Look your best on your wedding day with these 3 top tips

It’s the evening before your wedding. Everything you could possibly do to ensure your big day runs like clockwork is done and all that’s left for you to do is relax and trust that your chosen suppliers have their roles in hand.

Here are 3 tips on how to now change the focus and prepare yourself for your wedding day and ensure you look and more importantly feel your very best.

1. Prepare Your Skin

A good Make Up artist will have already suggested you do this and hopefully recommended a good personalised skincare routine for you to follow in the run up to your Wedding. In case they haven’t, you basically want to get as much water into your skin as possible regardless of your skin type.

Even if you have oily skin, it still needs hydration or it will over compensate by producing more oil. Make Up will sit more evenly on well hydrated skin and won’t sink in, meaning it will last longer throughout your wedding day and just generally look better. Essentially, hydration equals water and moisture equals oil.

Give yourself a facial by cleansing, toning, exfoliating and using a face mask, then moisturise. (If you have oily skin, skip the moisturiser step and use a serum with Hyaluronic Acid) If you have dry skin use an oil or a serum additionally.

Also exfoliate your lips with a scrub or a toothbrush (the free hotel ones are perfect for this job) and also use an eye cream. You will be amazed at what a difference this makes. When you wake up your skin will glow.

2. Wash Your Hair

I know that some of you will really want to wash your hair on your wedding day and if you are wearing your hair down, then ok you can, however, if you’re wearing your hair up, I advise my brides to wash it the evening before with very little conditioner for the ends. This means that your hair will be clean but not so clean that all the pins and volume will slip out. It will also mean that you’ve got one job ticked off your morning list!

3. Have an Early Night

This may seem like a blazingly obvious one but it’s really important. Set yourself a strict bedtime and stick to it. It’s so easy to get carried away when all your favourite people are there having dinner and drinks and they are excited and ready to party. I know. All you want to do is get into the party spirit and catch up with everyone…. but don’t. Set yourself a two drink limit and don’t stay later than 10pm. Be disciplined with yourself. You will have plenty of time the following day to go hard at it. Boring as this advice is, you will be so thankful that you listened to me when you’re feeling well rested and your skin is glowing when you wake up!

If you follow these few tips, I guarantee that you will feel great on your big day and in hand, look amazing.
