Lasky Wedding: The Essex, Colchester
Save The Date
In 2013 we met up with this lovely couple for their engagement portraits at the beach. They planned to use the photographs for their save the date cards so brought along a chalk board to display the date - we also drew it in the sand for some photos. The pre-wedding session was such fun; we laughed the whole time so were counting on the wedding being a great day too.
Fast forward to 2014 and the big day is upon us. The brides mother helped her get ready and into her dress, so it would be a surprise for the bridesmaids. It was our first bridesmaids reveal and they didn't disappoint with their reactions! The bridesmaids then helped with the final touches before heading off to the church.
The ceremony took place at Kingsland Church in Colchester, where the couple attended regularly. They wanted to pray together before the ceremony but still adhere to the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride beforehand, so he was blindfolded and brought downstairs by his groomsmen.
The Essex Golf Club, Colchester
Upon arriving at The Essex Golf Club where the reception was to be held, the bride and groom had a photograph with their chosen wedding car - a VW camper - and then explored the grounds of the golf club for their portraits. As the receptions theme was ‘At the Beach’, during the drinks reception they had an ice-cream stall for their guests to enjoy. Another unique highlight of the day was the best man and bridesmaid singing a song they had personally written for the bride and groom!
