Wedding Venue Review: Marks Hall

A rural setting full of wonder and charm both inside and out

Where you say I Do

Ceremonies can be held outside in the summer months with space for plenty of guests (but won't feel too big with a smaller number in attendance). The gazebo structure under which the couple stand is partially open, so this offers a great variety of vantage points for your photographer. We can move from the front to the back and also from one side to the other for loads of different shots, quite inconspicuously. Outside ceremonies provide gorgeous natural light for those bright and airy images too. The area is so beautifully kept and landscaped with gloriously colourful flowers (in the right season).

Dancing the night away

Inside, the coach house is a large, traditional barn with stunning exposed brick and beams. The building itself oozes natural character and charm but you can add your personal touch with further decor too. Fairy-lights make it so romantic! Once the tables are moved back, there is plenty of room for a fantastic disco in the evening.

The Grounds

The grounds are every bride, groom and photographers dream. If you don't want to venture far from your guests and choose to have just a few portraits, the courtyard is beautiful and immaculately landscaped. However, we would suggest you definitely leave plenty of time for your portraits to really make the most of the surroundings. There are so many photo opportunities in the hundreds of acres available including a large lake with a bridge, a wooded area and lovely pathways.

A thumbs up from us!

In our opinion, Marks Hall is a very special place and we would certainly advise you to go and see it in person. With the charming Coach House and wonderful grounds it sets a delightful atmosphere for your wedding. They have a wedding coordinator to help you plan and organise your day and in our experience, she was excellent at ensuring everything went without a hitch.

The ideal venue if you’re looking for:

  • An outdoor wedding

  • A rustic barn wedding

  • A countryside location
