How to always look good in photos
There are a few tried and tested ways to always look good in photos. I mean, who doesn't want to look their best? Whether at your professional engagement photography session or snaps at home, these will create flattering poses for everyone.
Chin out and down
If you already have a strong, defined jaw-line, you don't need to worry so much about this one, but for those of us carrying a bit more extra skin around the neck, this trick is amazing. Simply stick your chin out and down. Imagine the camera is pulling your face towards it, while keeping your shoulders still (you feel a bit like a turtle). Then lower your chin ever so slightly. Motto - feels weird, looks good! By doing this you are elongating your neck and creating more of a defined jaw-line.
Lean on your back leg
Believe it or not, this applies to men and women alike. When turning 45 degrees to the camera, lean all your weight onto the back leg. From here, women can bend their front leg and men can point the toes of the front leg towards the camera. This shifts your weight back away from the camera.
Just have fun
One of the easiest ways to look 'bad' in a photo is the fake smile or grimace! To avoid this, just have fun, be natural, laugh. Top tip, when laughing try and lean forwards rather than recoiling backwards - this controls the double chin! Failing all this, try shouting HEY or YAY! Really get into it - make sure to tell your whole face otherwise you can end up looking very strange, but this creates a natural, happy, fun expression.
