Hannah and Brad’s summer wedding at Copdock Hall

I hadn't met Brad and Hannah before, but it turned out we had several connections that made working with them feel like a reunion of sorts.

From previously photographing Brad's aunt's wedding to collaborating on commercial photography with his dad, our paths seemed to have intertwined over the years. They even recognised a previous bride of mine from our portfolio!

It was an absolute joy to join Hannah and Brad, along with their families, for their wedding at Copdock Hall.

The Ceremony

Their wedding took place at Copdock Hall, a rustic English barn turned wedding venue with a vineyard backdrop. The barn itself has rustic charm, although it posed a challenge for photography due to its limited natural light. However, the warmth emanating from the wall of fairy lights and the support of their family and friends made the ceremony truly beautiful.

Garden Games

The sun shone brightly for an afternoon filled with garden games and lively entertainment during the drinks reception. These moments, captured in vibrant and dynamic photos, perfectly showcase the joy and energy of the celebration.

Giant Connect 4 is always a hit at weddings, but I particularly love the photos of the beanbag toss.

Speeches

With such a fantastic group of people in attendance, I anticipated that the speeches would be memorable. Hannah's dad joked about Brad not sharing his doughnuts when they first met, and proceeded to lick every doughnut before giving the pack to Brad.

To everyone's amusement, Brad reciprocated during his speech by presenting Hannah's dad with a box of doughnuts, continuing the playful banter in the most endearing way. Completely unplanned!

The Portraits

During our initial portrait session in the vineyard the wind was not on our side, but we were rewarded with some breathtaking photos during an evening session later on.

When we first spoke at their initial meeting, they expressed how neither of them enjoyed having their photos taken, but look how beautiful and natural these portraits are!

The Reception

The highlight of the day for me was definitely the evening reception, with guests filling the dance floor and having a great time. The energy was infectious and it was a fun and memorable celebration all around.

It is so difficult to pick just one favourite photo, or moment, or even part of the day. What makes a wedding special for me, is when the couple and their families welcome me in to be part of the day and feel they can be themselves with me. That’s when we can create magic, like we did here.
